Venture Trust is a voluntary organisation that helps young people make positive choices in their lives through community and residential based personal development courses.
The Inspiring Young Futures programme aims to help vulnerable, hard-to-reach young people who are in or leaving care and young carers aged 16-19, make a successful transition into adulthood and independent living. The programme consists of a series of flexible phases which can take place over a period of 12-18 months. These phases incorporate exploration of local opportunities and services alongside wilderness-based activities to allow a young person to build confidence, motivation and aspirations and equip them with a range of fundamental life skills, to support them when making educational or career choices. The Care Leavers’ Association Bike Ride
11th April – 14th 2010

Day 1
Well, here we are. The day has arrived when all three of us are packed and ready for the challenge ahead. We set off at 11am from Aldwych in London and are hoping that the Sunday traffic is calm enough for us to make it out of London alive. The sun shines down on us as we make our way steadily towards the first stop on our four day journey – Writtle which is just outside of Chelmsford. On the first day we travelled 35 miles and only got lost once!
